Fr. Elliott's and Deacon Minicky's Latest Homily:

COVID 19 Special Announcement

Dear Parishioners of St. Gianna Church,

We are living through a great trial, not only is there the threat of serious illness from the Corona virus, but we have been cut off from the Holy Sacrifice of the Altar and Holy Communion.

1. Archbishop Carlson has ordered that all Masses are to be cancelled through April 6, which is Palm Sunday--this may change! He has given a dispensation to all Catholics so that there is no sin involved with missing Sunday Mass. Please make Spiritual Communions.

2. Holy Communion can be given only to those who are seriously ill and dying. We just received this memo yesterday. I have to suspend the practice of being available for Holy Communion in the mornings.

3. The Churches can remain open for private prayer; ours will be open from 7:30 am--9:00 pm Monday-Saturday and 7:30 am--12:00 pm Sunday.

4. Confessions can be heard, but behind the screen to maintain proper distance.
I am scheduling Confession during the remainder of Lent on:
  Monday-Fridays: 8-9 am
  Fridays only 7-9 pm
  Saturdays: 4-5 pm
  Sundays: 10-11 am

Please pray the Holy Rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for a quick end to this situation. Pray for the conversion of our country and the world which has lost faith in God and Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Prayers for you in these sad times,
Father Elliott
