Devout Heart Tomorrow Night!

Hello Everyone!

Warning this post is a little long but there are some pictures, too!  So grab a cup of coffee, some fuzzy slippers, and turn on some Mozart in the background.

We hope you all are having a wonderful Summer!  We wanted to remind everyone that Devout Heart will be meeting this coming Tuesday night, July 10th from 6:30-8:30pm at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in New Melle.  (Father Elliott will be away at the Carmelite Novena in Clayton)  Immaculate Heart of Mary is the parish directly south of St. Gianna Parish and you will simply take Highway N to Highway Z, go south on Highway Z until you see the parish in the “Heart” of New Melle after about 5 miles.  The Parish is across the street from the New Melle water tower.  We will be meeting in the Grand Hall in the basement of the new church, so you will simply drive around to the back of the large parish building and walk into the Grand Hall.  We will have a talk, examination of conscience, Fr. Tom Miller will be hearing Confessions, we will pray a Rosary upstairs in the church, and also sharing in some refreshments afterward back in the Grand Hall in honor of all of our seniors who graduated this year.  Bring a friend, and we hope to see you all there!  Parents and Guardians are of course always welcome.

The address is below:
8 West Highway D
New Melle, MO  63365

We also want to thank everyone for making the youth conference (on the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of the Immaculate Heart of Mary) such a meaningful time of prayer and fellowship.  Below is a link to pictures from the conference (Thanks to Ryan and Anna Truss for taking the pictures!)

Thank you again to all of the volunteers who worked tirelessly (Some in the middle of the night) to ensure we had a great conference.  We hope it was as blessed of a time of prayer for you as it was for us.  Father Elliott has already indicated he would like to host the conference again next year, so mark your calendars for June 7th and 8th, 2013!  Next year, we’ll be able to celebrate the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart on a first Friday as well!  We also would like to make the after-conference football game an annual event!  (I’ll be working out to get in shape between now and then!)  If you are interested to attend the conference next year, go ahead and fill out the pre-registration form on the same page as the pictures in the top left-hand corner of the webpage.

Also, for those interested, many of you have been praying for our job situation.  God in his grace has given us some wonderful contract work with a company in Colorado that will hopefully allow me to stay here in the St. Louis area (we really want to be here!  The Williams family version of the “Our Father” is “Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done-as long as we get to stay in St. Louis-on earth as it is in heaven.”).  All this to say, this contract work added to many teaching opportunities at various  homeschool co-ops and a teaching job at the John Paul II Preparatory School, should take care of us in the end.  In addition, I have been hired as a part-time youth director at Immaculate Heart of Mary in New Melle.  There, I will be an 8th grade catechist and will also be extending the reach of Devout Heart to the wonderful families there as well.  When we begin the school year we will continue to meet for Devout Heart every other week on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday and will alternate between St. Gianna’s and IHM in New Melle.  We’re very grateful for Father Tom Miller in New Melle and his generosity to our family and also in helping to support Devout Heart along with Father Elliott at St. Gianna’s.  We’re so excited to continue working with the youth!  You all encourage us so much in our faith and it’s an honor to fight in the Church Militant with you.  Thanks so much for all of your prayers and all of your continued prayers.

Enough about us, we would love to hear from each of you individually on how your summer is going and especially how we can be praying for you.  Feel free to call us or email us and we would love to know what God is doing in your life.  Know that we pray for you every day and if there’s anything specific we can pray for, we’d certainly be honored to do that.

If you would, please pray for Kendel and new little baby boy and for a safe delivery.  We are now only a few weeks away from welcoming the new little guy!  (no we will not disclose the name yet!  Unfortunately, Polycarp and Alphonsus are out, though!  Maybe Kendel will come around next time. ) Thanks in advance for all of your prayers for baby and mama.  We’ll be sure to send out a picture when he’s out!  Also, we would love to invite you all to the baptism.  We’ll send out the date and time and if you’re able to make it, you can welcome your new brother in Christ and get some cake!  Cake always brings people together, right?

That’s it for now.  You can take off the fuzzy slippers and turn the music off.  God bless you all and we hope to see you tomorrow night!
