As Catholics of St. Gianna Parish, in communion with our Archbishop, and our Holy Father, the Bishop of Rome, we are called by Jesus Christ to be His body, the Church, in our local community and to fully live the Gospel.

With faith, hope and charity, we strive to live our discipleship by fervent prayer, inspired worship, sound teaching, and sharing our faith with those in physical and spiritual need.

St. Gianna Parish is in compliance with the Safe Environment Program. This program requires anyone working with children to take a class called "Protecting God’s Children," have a background check run, and sign a Code Of Ethical Conduct.

    First Saturday of the Month
              Bonfire Rosary

First Saturday of March, 2019, March 2nd.  We will share a parish wide potluck dinner in the Parish Hall following 5:00 p.m. Mass. Afterward that, we will pray the Rosary and maybe even sing some songs!!

This is your chance to let your creative culinary talents shine!  Bring your favorite dish to share.  (Or you can bring a side dish or dessert.)  But most importantly, bring your family and friends.  All are welcome!  No RSVP necessary.

WEEKLY EVENTS

       Young Women's Faith Group
                 Emmaus Group

All young women, or those Young At Heart, are invited to join the newly formed Emmaus Group at St. Gianna Church.  An Emmaus Group is a small faith sharing community offered to young adults in the Archdiocese of St. Louis and at St. Gianna.  It is where young adults can walk together on the journey of faith, dive into Scripture and share life with one another.

Weekly meetings begin with Benediction in St. Gianna's church at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings and end at 8:00 p.m.

Prayerfully consider joining our new Emmaus Group and please pray for the young women forming this new group.

             Mary and the Bible
     A 12 Week Adult Bible Study

Need a New Year's resolution?  Want to boost your understanding of Catholic beliefs?  Come join us!! 

Every Wednesday beginning January 2, 2019, for 12 weeks, we will meet at 6:30 p.m. to discuss "Mary and the Bible."   Each session will last about an hour.  Come and learn with others more about our Catholic faith.  

RCIA - Inquiry Class For Adults

Do you or someone you know want to find out about the teachings of the Catholic Church? 
Classes are on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the Church Office.

First St. Gianna Quilt Social in 2020

The St. Gianna Quilters meet in the Parish Hall during the following hours:

 - Thursdays from 8:30- Noon
 - First Wednesday of the Month, 7-9:00 p.m.

Money raised by the St. Gianna Quilt Committee will go toward the parish debt. 

If you can donate any of the following items, we would greatly appreciate it:
  • embroidered blocks
  • quilt tops
  • batting material
  • quilting thread
  • anything that could be used to make a quilt 
Please leave these items in the foyer of church, or drop them in the parish office.

          At St. Gianna, 6:30 a.m.
             Saturday Mornings  

Wherever you are in life, Jesus Christ wants to meet you there, and take you further.  Whether you are a beginner or a long-practicing Catholic, this program is for you!  That Man Is You is a way to learn your faith, grow in holiness, and meet other men on the journey.  The Battle for the Bride begins on September 15th.

St. Gianna
Catholic Book Club

The book, The Shadow of His Wings: A Graphic Biography of Father Gareon Goldmann by Father Gereon Goldmann, OFM , is the next selection for the STG Book Club.  We will meet to discuss this selection on Tuesday, April 2 2019, in the church office from 7:00 - 8:00 pm.  Father Elliott will join us, also.

        Traveling Statue      

Our Lady Undoer of Knots Legion of Mary has a traveling statue of Our Lady of Fatima available to any family who would like to schedule a visit. Sign up sheets are on the table in the vestibule of the church or you can call Nancy Battis at 636-751-6147.

          Prayer Shawls

Blessed Prayer Shawls are now available at St. Gianna’s thanks to Immaculate Conception Dardenne. If you or someone you know is in need of consolation, healing, guidance, prayers and deliverance from afflictions, please call the parish office, 636-327-3639 to request a shawl. Please provide the name of the prayer shawl recipient so that it can be added to ICD’s book of recipients for continuous prayers. Donations are welcome for the shawls. A typical donation is between $15 - $20.
